Norm’s Place, A Rustic Retreat

Ancien repaire de boucaniers, ancienne industrie coloniale, NORM'S PLACE And Guest-House, Un lieu HISTORIQUE. Situé A la baie de LABADEE, au pied de la montagne, NORM'S PLACE And Guest-House, "LIFE IS SIMPLE" UN PARADIS SUR TERRE....

A slice of paradise, in Haiti

Norm’s Place is a rustic retreat located in Labadee (Labadie) Bay, Haiti. When we finally arrived at the water taxi area in Labadee it did not take long to arrange transport over to the hotel dock. The ride over the mountain from Cap Haitien was enjoyable to say the very least. The views of the Haitian north coast as you descend closer to the ocean is reminiscent of other gorgeous Caribbean locations. There is also a familiar resemblance to the north coast of Durban, South Africa near Umhlanga Rocks. The water taxi captain nosed up to Norm’s dock and we stepped off the bow of the boat. Norm’s Place is located in a picturesque location in Labadee Bay with a commanding view of the village further down the bay, and the Cruise Ship dock that is also in the distance.

Guest Testimonials

“Paradise! Norms place is a real treat to stay in. The grounds are stunning and quaint. There is a small beach area and place to swim there in the clearest turquoise waters you can imagine...

They also have people who can take you out to a Island/beach day trip and also to Cap Haitien to see the Citadelle. So you really don't even have to stay in Cap all, if you don't need to. The guides that they have that will take you out to these trips are super sweet, trustworthy, and so friendly I think I have a new best friends! ”

“Simply beautiful! Great base for boating adventures to amazing beaches!

I have stayed at Norm's at least 4 times. It is a simple and beautiful B&B that used to be a French outpost. You must take a water taxi to get there (100 HTG/ 2.50 US) but once you are there you can take other boat rides to Ile la Ra and Paradise Beach which are two extraordinary beaches. You can ask the staff to pack you a cooler of beers and you are on your way! The boat guys can help you organize food on the beach (lobster, octopus, fish) which is both cheap and amazing. The staff from Norm's will set you up with a good boat guy.”

“Wonderful! - A beautiful place to stay that is out of the way. You have to take a boat 10 minutes from the end of the road out of Cap Haitian. A great place to rest and relax after the crowds and potholed roads of Haiti. Thanks to Angelique for a wonderful stay! (the other reviews give more details)”

“A little paradise - f you are looking for a place to relax away from the noise of Port-au-Prince, Norm’s Place (in Labadee, North of Haiti) is definitely the place to stay. I have never been in such a peaceful and quiet hotel. It really does not even feel like a hotel, it feels as if you are visiting a friend (who happens to have nice rooms and beautiful gardens). People who are down to earth, who do not enjoy the big crowds from tourists or the loud noises of the big cities will truly enjoy this little piece of paradise on earth.”
“Elegant charming quaint - This place is really special. Inn owner Angelique is on site and oversees the operation of this b ans b, located on an historic site built by the French in the 1700s and lovingly restored by Angelique and her late husband Norm. Relax and enjoy the privacy and personalized service experience that being in a place accessible only by boat can provide! ”

“On the bay of Labadie. A guesthouse which was built on the ruins of a Colonial house. Two steps out the front door and you’re in the sea. Although it’s near where the cruise ships come in, you are not bothered by them. The best service and food amongst all the hotels in the North. My home from home.”
